Will help in marriages and families.,
Hippocratees named the temperaments in correspondence with the liquids he thot were the cause.
Each of the 4 he named has strength and weaknesses., there is one more that he did not have which is supine…… the 4 he did are: melancholy., sanguine, phlegmatic., choleric.,
The sanguine, he thot , is characterized by rich., warm blood.
Cholerics must have too much yellow bile.,
Melancholies he saw as having black or dark blood – black bile.
Phlegmatics he saw as having thick blood, which he called phlegm.
To him, these suggested the lively (sanguine), active (choleric), black (melancholy), and slow (phlegmatic ) temperaments.

With the advances of modern medical science the idea that temperament is determined by body liquid was discarded, but the 4 names r still widely used.

NOTE:  Any study that does not include supine (all FIVE) temperament is not going to be complete.

The Supine temperament is new to the list. The other four have been known about for 2400 years. However, as the National Christian Counselors Association was doing its 7 years of research with about 5,000 people, the evidence of the fifth temperament was found. It has been known that some people did not ‘fit’ into any of the four temperaments, but until the N.C.C.A.’s research, there wasn’t enough evidence for a fifth.

To define the Supine temperament in a couple of words, “the servant’s heart”. Thus the name ‘Supine’, which means “with the face upwards”; like a servant looking up to his/her master. This can clearly be seen in Jesus.

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45)

There 3 Areas of of Interpersonal Needs

The 3 areas are as follows:

Inclusion The need to establish and maintain satisfactory relationships with people with regards to association and socialization. This also considers intellectual capabilities.

Scored by PACE {Slow or Fast} and PRIORITY {Tasks or People}

Any study that does not include all FIVE temperaments is not going to be complete.

There are 2 Angles in each of the 3 Areas of Interpersonal Need:

Expressed Behavior The degree to which a need is displayed
Responsive (Wanted) Behavior The degree to which a need is actually wanted

This ‘score’ can only be gotten with the testing from ncca

The lower the Expressed Score, the little that temperament need is shown;
The higher the Expressed Score, the more that temperament need is shown.

The lower the Responsive Score, the little that temperament wants from others;
The higher the Responsive Score, the more that temperament wants from others.

There are 5 Temperaments:

Temperament is the combination of traits we inherit from r parents. No one knows where it resides, but maybe in the mind or emotional center – often referred to in the bible as the heart. From that source it combines with other human characteristics to produce r basic make up.

It is a persons temperament that makes him outgoing and extrovertish or shy and introvertish., have u ever noticed how some adults have an anger prob that flares up at the slightest provocation., Yet others rarely get angry but they may have a tendency to worry or feel fear., Ppl didn’t just become that way accidentally., they inherited those traits or temperaments., As some r good at art and music., others sports and industry., some outstanding musicians can have siblings that r tone deaf., btdt csg
Temperament is the number 1 influence on a persons life., like body structure and color of eyes., we r born with it and it stays with us thru life.
An extrovert may tone down a bit but hes still an extrovert hmhhm
Some christians think that their temperaments can be changed., but that’s impossible.
We r born with them but the holy spirit can modify r temperaments so that they appear to have been changed.
There r blends of these bc u have 2 parents but one usually is dominant.
